Built from nearly 20 years of trying to make restaurants run better

Mise Logic Lab didn’t start as a software idea. It started with spreadsheets. A lot of spreadsheets.

For almost 20 years, I collected systems, templates, checklists, policies, trackers, and processes while working in restaurants. Some came from places that ran exceptionally well. Others came from walking into kitchens where almost everything needed attention because the systems were weak, outdated, inconsistent, or simply didn’t exist.

I spent a lot of late nights over the years trying to fix those problems: rebuilding inventory sheets, cleaning up training systems, creating better food-safety logs, writing policies, tracking certifications, and building labour tools to make information easier to find and harder to lose.

Over time, that collection became something much bigger. Eventually, it became the inspiration and driving philosophy behind Mise Logic Lab: to build the complete system I wish I had when I was running restaurants.

Organizing the Work Restaurants Already Have to Do

Restaurant operators already have enough to do. The answer I was searching for was never supposed to be just another piece of software that creates more administrative work. Mise Logic Lab is designed to take the things restaurants already have to manage, like temperature checks, cooling logs, training records, policies, incidents, inspections, safety documentation, and daily routines, and organize them properly.

The work will always need to be done, but with Mise Logic Lab it stops living across lost clipboards, misplaced binders, broken spreadsheets, emails, shared drives that no one has access to anymore, and somebody’s memory.

When an inspector walks through the door, you shouldn’t have to start hunting. When a certificate expires, you shouldn’t find out about it three months later. When someone signs a policy, you should know exactly what version they signed and when. When something goes wrong, the record should already be there.

Built Specifically Around Restaurant Operations

Mise Logic Lab is not a generic workplace platform with the word “restaurant” added to the homepage. It was built specifically around how restaurants operate, by someone who did it, day after day, year after year.

Routine Lab handles the daily side of the business: food-safety checks, equipment temperatures, cooling and reheating, cleaning routines, shellfish tags, sushi-rice records, and cleaning lists with easier delegation and follow-up.

Safety Lab handles the workplace side: training, certifications, policies, committees, hazard assessments, incidents, corrective actions, first aid, violence and harassment documentation, and other recurring safety responsibilities.

Underneath it is a province-aware rules system built from hundreds of individually researched requirements across Canada. The goal isn’t to pretend software can replace an operator’s judgment, a regulator, or professional legal advice. The goal is to make the information easier to understand, easier to manage, and much harder to forget.

Why $49 Per Location?

Because restaurants are already being nickel-and-dimed to death. Separate systems for scheduling, inventory, training manuals, and HR all add up with high monthly costs. Traditional consulting and HR services can also quickly become expensive.

I didn’t want Mise Logic Lab to become another one of those extra costs, without the payoff. I wanted this to become a “need to have”. Not a “nice to have”. The Compliance Bundle is $49 CAD per month, per location, with unlimited users. No hidden costs, no extras, no “upgrades” to actually get the most out of it. That price is intentional: I would rather earn a restaurant’s $49 every month by building something genuinely useful than charge hundreds simply because that’s what compliance software usually does.

Restaurants Deserve Better Systems

Independent restaurants and small restaurant groups rarely have dedicated compliance departments. The chef, the GM, or the owner is looking after it at 11:30 at night after everybody else has gone home. I know because I was one of them.

Mise Logic Lab exists to make that part of running a restaurant a little less painful. No giant implementation project, no per-user charges, and no credit card required to try it. No overdesigned overly complex data streams designed by someone who’s never done a line check. It’s just a system built by a restaurant operator who got tired of watching good restaurants get buried under a thousand small administrative problems, while trying to keep up with every other cost rising and keep their heads above water.

If that sounds familiar, give it 14 days. I’m willing to earn the next $49.
